Amelia's Young Highlander Awards - Rules for Entry

Applicants can be entered by parents or carers of their child, but please ensure permission from parent/carers of children not the legal guardian.


Entries must include:

Completed application form including supporting statement demonstrating how the nominee meets the judging criteria (no more than 1250 words)

There are 4 sections to the application.

  • 1. Your Details (You, The Nominator)
  • 2. Nominees Details
  • 3. Reason for Nomination (max 1250 words)
  • 4. Award Category Selection

Please note the following:

  • All children under the age of 16 living in the Highlands area are eligible to enter as many of the Award categories. If you have no access to online entry, you can obtain an application form by emailing ameliascbu@gmail.com or telephone Kelly on 07494 437464.
  • Closing date for entries is 23:59 on Friday 15th July 2022. Entries received after this time will not be accepted.
  • Please clearly state where information is confidential. Any confidential information will be available to judges but not announced at the Awards or distributed to media.
  • No winners will be announced until the Awards night on 26th August 2022 at the Drumossie Hotel. Nominated finalists will be contacted after the nominee's closing date.
  • The judges’ decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • You agree for Amelia's Young Highlander Awards to process your personal data for purposes of the Awards only and you agree that your application form will be sent to the judging panel. Aurora Design Studio are facilitating the nomination process on behalf of Amelia's Young Highlander Awards.

Terms & Conditions

All entrants must comply with the entry requirements set out in the Amelia's Young Highlander Awards (YHA) information and these Terms. The entrant acknowledges that failure to comply with these may result in his/her disqualification from the YHA.

Eligibility

  • Entry to YHA is restricted to entrants who are residents of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
  • A nomination can only be made by a person over the age of 18 and must be made with the parental consent of that nominee.
  • Anyone under the age of 18 must obtain parental consent before submitting their entry.

Entry

  • It is possible to nominate a young person for more than one category in YHA by using a separate form for each nomination.
  • YHA is free to enter.
  • Nominations must be submitted in accordance with the format specified in the YHA website. Nominations can only be made online.
  • The closing date for nominations is specified in the information on the YHA website (and may be extended at the absolute discretion of the organisers).
  • The nominator will be notified of any successful nominations via email by the dates specified on the YHA website.
  • Incomplete or illegible entries will not be counted and will be discarded.
  • In making the nomination, you warrant that all information you submit is correct.

Judging

  • Amelia's Young Highlander Awards will be judged by a judging panel whose decision is final.
  • Only the families of those young people who have been successful will be invited to attend the awards ceremony.

Publication of winners’ names

  • Names of winners and results of Amelia's Young Highlander Awards will be published in media titles including newspapers (online and print), broadcast (radio and TV) and social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). Should the family of successful Young Highlander not seek publicity, this should be made clear to the organisers.

Use of personal information

  • Any personal information or data provided to YHA as part of the nomination process shall only be used for YHA and nothing else. The data obtained will comply with GDPR standards.

Liability

  • Except in the case of death or personal injury caused by their negligence or fraud, YHA shall not be liable to any entrant (and/or any guest or parent/guardian of an entrant, as applicable) for any loss or damage howsoever caused (whether in contract, tort (including, without limitation, negligence) statutory duty or otherwise) arising out of or in connection with the YHA.
